Plain Speak started in 2013, when Dan Pechacek and Ben See sought to recreate a full-length album that had been lost in a tornado. It was both the culmination of the work they'd made together since high school, and also the start of something new. The lineup has changed through many local shows, tours, and releases, but the current incarnation features Pechacek on guitar and vocals, See on drums and vocals, and Felix Rodriguez on bass. They are currently working on an EP for 2018. Their influences range from pacific northwest indie rock like Death Cab for Cutie, to midwest emo like American Football, to songwriters like David Bazan and Andy Hull.
